Why It Matters

Foster youth consistently report that one stable, caring adult in their life makes the biggest difference in their outcomes. You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to show up. Our training and support will do the rest.

One Trusted Adult

Research consistently shows that one stable, caring adult relationship is the single biggest predictor of positive outcomes for foster youth. Volunteers provide exactly that.

Skills That Last

Volunteers who teach financial literacy, life skills, or technology aren't just filling a class. They're giving teens capabilities they'll use for the rest of their lives.

Community, Not Charity

Our volunteers don't give handouts. They give their time, knowledge, and presence. That shift from charity to community is central to how we build lasting independence.

Ways to Get Involved

There's a role for almost any skill set or schedule. Our volunteers come from all walks of life: finance, tech, education, law, and beyond.

Driving Mentor

4–6 hrs/month

Ride alongside teens as they gain real-world driving experience. This is about building a long-term mentoring relationship through shared experiences on the road. Ideal for someone patient, empathetic, and committed to showing up for a young person over time.

Mentor (One-on-One)

4–6 hrs/month

Work directly with a teen over several months to help them build their life plan and take on the challenges of early adulthood. The most impactful role we offer.

Soundboard

Flexible

Be the person a teen can just talk to: no agenda, no structured session. Someone who listens without judgment, offers perspective when asked, and shows up consistently. Can be in-person or remote.

Life Skills Instruction

2–4 hrs/month

Lead workshops or one-on-one sessions on cooking, time management, communication, budgeting, or other essential adult skills. Share your expertise and help teens build confidence in daily life.

Financial Literacy Coaching

2–4 hrs/month

Help teens understand budgeting, credit, banking, and long-term financial planning. Your guidance can help them build a strong financial foundation for independence.

Technology & Digital Skills

2–4 hrs/month

Teach digital literacy, job search tools, online safety, productivity software, and how to use technology responsibly. Help teens navigate the digital world with confidence.

Legal Advocacy

Flexible

Help youth understand their rights, navigate legal systems, and access legal aid. Your expertise can help them advocate for themselves in critical situations.

Housing Navigation

Flexible

Connect youth with housing resources, explain tenant rights, and assist with applications. Help them find stable, safe housing as they work toward independence.

Community Advocate

Flexible

Help spread our mission through your network, connecting us with potential donors, volunteers, and the teens who need us most. Be an ambassador for the work we do.
