For Teens & Young Adults

You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone

Whether you're in foster or adoptive care, have already aged out, or are a young person without adequate support at home. If you need a plan, someone to talk to, or just a place to start, we're here.

If you're a foster or adoptive teen, have aged out of care, or are a young person without the support at home you need to figure out adulthood, you are exactly who OnRamp is for. You might be figuring out where to live, how to pay for things, whether college is possible, or just how to get through the day. That's exactly why we exist.

Here's What Working With Us Looks Like

OnRamp has four programs designed to take you from where you are right now to real, lasting independence. Most participants move through them in order, but we meet you wherever you are.

Pick Your Destination

Discover your path forward

Most foster youth age out without ever being taught how to plan for their future. This is where that changes. We start by exploring who you are, what matters to you, and where you want to go.

  • Explore your values, strengths, and interests
  • Discover education and career paths that fit you
  • Set goals and build a vision that's uniquely yours

Map Your Route

Build the practical skills to get there

Once you know where you're headed, you need the skills to get there. Finances, healthcare, housing, how to stay safe online. We cover all of it.

  • Budgeting, banking, and financial fundamentals
  • Healthcare navigation and tenant rights
  • Digital literacy, online safety, and identity protection

Get Behind the Wheel

Real driving experience. Real independence.

This is where your plan becomes real. You'll get actual driving experience through supervised sessions with experienced mentors who will help you earn your license and become a safe, confident driver. Beyond the road, you build the professional and life skills to execute your roadmap.

  • Supervised driving sessions and learner's permit support
  • Vehicle ownership, maintenance, and car buying basics
  • Resume building, interview prep, and career readiness
  • One-on-one mentorship for driving, skills, and life guidance

Meet with your Pit Crew

Find your people. A community with no expiration date.

A consistent, welcoming place where you can show up and just be. Over time, the people you find there become your pit crew. Not because you were assigned to each other, but because you kept coming back.

  • A safe space to belong without conditions or an end date
  • Peer mentorship from those further down the road
  • Lasting relationships built on loyalty, not obligation

Common Questions

Who is eligible for your programs?

Our programs are designed for foster and adoptive youth (ages 14–26): those currently in care, recently aged out, or placed with adoptive families. We also serve young people who don't have adequate support at home and are navigating early adulthood largely on their own. If you're unsure whether you qualify, reach out anyway. We'd rather talk to you than have you go without help.

Is there any cost to participants?

No. All of our programs are completely free to participants. This is made possible by our donors and supporters. If financial barriers are preventing you from accessing support, please tell us. We will find a way.

I'm scared to reach out. Will anyone judge me?

Absolutely not. Our founder is a foster and adoptive parent. Everyone on our team has been trained to listen without judgment. You can be honest about where you are, and we will meet you there.

I'm not in foster care anymore. Can you still help?

Yes. Many of the people we help are between 18 and 26 and already on their own. If you aged out of foster or adoptive care and are struggling with housing, finances, employment, or any part of adult life, please reach out. If you were never formally in the system but grew up without adequate support, that matters too. We're here for you.

Can I refer someone else to your programs?

Yes. Case workers, teachers, counselors, and family members frequently refer youth to us. Use the contact form below or call us directly.
